Your private practice focussing on sports medicine and collagenase injection in Hannover, Germany.

Welcome to my sport private practice in downtown Hannover in the northern part of Germany. The three main areas of expertise are

Tendon problems at the Achilles or patella tendon are common overuse injuries in both, recreational and professional athletes especially in running or soccer.

For more than 10 years I am focussing in tendon research with several publications such as in the American Journal of Sports Medicine, the British Journal of Sports Medicine and or Rheumatology. Among those publications, in 2006 we were in the first to describe an increased vascularisation at the point of pain in Achilles tendinopathy in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

In terms of collagenase injection therapy for Dupuytren’s disease of the hand, Prof. Knobloch was among the first experts in Germany to offer this treatment in 2011 as an alternative to conventional open surgery. Collagenase injection is done in an outpatient setting in local anesthesia with early recovery without any scar.  Scientifically, I could demonstrate an early recovery and improvement in quality of life following collagenase injection in contrast to conventional open surgery.

The unique concept of the SportPraxis Prof. Knobloch, highly specialised in tendon therapy and collagenase injection, has been awarded by a short list nomination on the Germany Innovation Award 2013.

On six days of a week including late wednesday and saturdays, the SportPraxis Prof. Knobloch offers unique and innovative procedures to enable early improvement in quality of life.
